The Big Six wheel, also known simply as The Big Six, Wheel of Fortune or The Great Wheel, is an unequal game of chance played using a large vertical wheel that can be spun.

Since May 13, 2002, it can be legally played at licensed casinos in the UK, in accordance with the Gaming Clubs (Bankers’ Games) Regulations 2002 (Statutory Regulations 2002/1130).
Which Casino Games Have The Best — And Worst — Odds?
The wheel is divided into several equal segments separated by a wing or pegs. Each segment is associated with a number. The wheel is spun by a dealer, and the winning segment is indicated by a pointer mounted on a flexible piece of rubber or leather, which also rubs against the pegs to provide friction and slow the wheel. If the player stops the wheel, the segment on top is the winner.
There are several variations of the game, which divide the wheel into a different number of segments, use different symbols on the segments, and have different odds if a symbol is selected.
This variant is the most common in US casinos. The symbols are $1, $2, $5, $10 and $20 bills – and two scatter symbols, a joke and the casino logo. The $1 bill pays at odds of 1 to 1, the $2 bill at 2 to 1, the $5 bill at 5 to 1, and so on. The wild and logo pay 40 to 1 or 45 to 1 depending on local gaming regulations or casino practice.
The house edge or edge (the proportion of bets the casino expects to win on average) of this game is one of the highest of most casino games. In the US, it ranges from 11.1% on the $1 bet to over 24% on the wildcard or logo (pays 40 to 1). In Australia, the house edge is 7.69% on all bets, so the payouts on a 52-segment wheel are 47:1, 23:1, 11:1, 5:1, 3:1 and 1: 1.

The symbols on the wheel represent some of the 216 possible combinations of three dice. Sometimes the same combination appears in more than one segment. Players bet on numbers 1 to 6. If the number appears on one of the dice in the winning segment, the dealer pays 1 to 1; on two of the dice, 2 to 1; on all three dice, 3 to 1.
An example of a dice wheel, manufactured by H. C. Evans & Co. it is shared. of Chicago (or its successor), in 54 segments. Each of the triples appears four times. The following doubles appear four times: 2, 1, 1; 2, 2, 1; 4, 3, 3; 5, 4, 4; 6, 5, 5; and 6, 6, 3. Each of the following combinations appears three times: 3, 2, 1; and 6, 5, 4.
In the example above, there are 54 possible outcomes for a single wheel spin. For a specific number:
At odds of 1 to 1, 2 to 1, and 3 to 1 respectively for each of these types of outcomes, the expected loss as a percentage of the stake spent is:

The game’s symbolism is similar to chuck-a-luck or sic bo, games of chance played with three dice. However, the house edge or edge is higher than that for chuck-a-luck, which itself has a higher house edge than other casino games.
This variety is rarely seen in casinos, but is usually seen as a carnival game or at a “Monte Carlo Night” charity fundraiser. A similar game, the “Big Nine” wheel, has five numbers on each segment and also three scatter symbols, appearing in three spaces each, which pay odds of 10:1.
A legal game in a UK, Australian or New Zealand licensed casino consists of a wheel at least 1.5 meters in diameter divided into 52 segments, each marked with one of seven symbols (referred to as A to G). The table below indicates the frequency of the symbols, their probability, the associated odds indicated and the edge or house edge.
A variation called the “Mississippi Derby” was used for a short time at the Grand Casino in Gulfport, Mississippi. (The casino was destroyed in 2005 by Hurricane Katrina.) The symbols were combinations of three of several different horses, arranged to represent a winner, a second-place horse, and a third-place horse. (Horses were represented in three concentric rings, with the winner on the outer ring.) Players bet on specific horses to “win”, “put”, or “show”, as in horse racing betting. Payouts varied from horse to horse, depending on how often and where the horse appeared in the tracks. The odds ranged from 40 to 1 for the “long shot” to win, falling to 1-2 for the “favourite” to appear. This name has several names: Big Six, Wheel of Fortune, Money Wheel, Big Wheel and Lucky Wheel. Whatever the name, it is a large vertical wheel where the player bets on the number on which it will land. The odds are conveniently equal to the number. For example, a bet on 5 will pay 5 to 1.
Roulette Odds & Probability Explained
The odds are pretty low, but at least you can count on it, usually being met at the front door by an attractive dealer with a good endowment. Just one of those Vegas traditions.
The following table shows the betting options, payout odds, roulette number and house edge as per Las Vegas Big Six rules.
Atlantic City is the same as Las Vegas except they change a $1 position to $5 and pay 45 instead of 40 on both logos.
The Kings Draft rules are the same as in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, except that both logos pay 50 to 1. This reduces the house edge on these bets to 5.56%.

In Macau there is a similar game. One or two wheels each can be found in the larger casinos. It doesn’t seem to be a popular game there. The game wheel is the same size, but instead of dollars it has colors. The table below shows the number of stops on the wheel, odds and payback for each bet. The table shows that the best bet is tied for orange, purple and green at 7.69% each.
Star City Casino in Sydney has a similar game called “Big Wheel”. Instead of money, he uses animals native to Australia. As the following table shows, the house edge is the same on all bets at 7.69%.
Aruze and Interblock are manufacturers of electronic board games. The two make a mathematically equivalent Big Six wheel. The following tables show the available bets, the number of stakes for each, the probability of winning and the house edge.
Also, Aruze makes another version with a $6.50 symbol instead of $6 and Joker and Flag bets pay 52 instead of 50. This more liberal wheel I saw at the Star City casino in Sydney, Australia. The full odds are below.
How To Play Big Six
The house edge in both versions of the Aruze game is significantly less than a standard Big Six with a live dealer.
Internet casinos that use Gamesys software have two wheel of fortune games. Both have 49-stakes wheels with prizes of $1, $3, $7, $15, $23, and $47. The following table shows the number of stakes for each win, what it pays, the probability of winning, and the house advantage. As you can see, each bet has a house edge of 2.04%. This is by far the best Big Six/Wheel of Fortune game I’ve ever seen.
By changing a stop loss to push all bets, this actually makes the house edge exactly 0.00%. However, there is a catch. The player must pay a 10% commission on any net winnings per “play session”. Any gap between bets of one hour or more will end a session and no session may last longer than 24 hours.
I saw this machine at Global Gaming Expo 2018. The Bonus announces prizes in a separate prize wheel of 5, 20, 50, 100, 250 and 100. I have no idea how they are weighted so I leave the question mark at that one .

Another Interblock product is titled “Big Six”. It follows the same rules as the Australian version, except it adds two more slices to the wheel called “Super Spin”. If the player bets on Super Spin and the wheel lands on one of these two wheel slices, an electronic wheel in the middle of the big wheel will spin to determine the win. Possible wins are 20, 50, 75, 100, 500 and 1000. I don’t know what the weight of this inner wheel is. Company literature I received at Global Gaming Expo 2019 indicated that there were five different
